Did you know that employment of healthcare occupations is projected to grow 14 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations, adding about 1.9 million new jobs?* To help meet this growing trend, in November the Chicago Healthcare Sector Center (CHSC) hosted the largest healthcare inclusive job fair in the city at Malcolm X College.
The CHSC hosts this event every fall in collaboration with the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and universal job seekers had the opportunity to meet exclusively with healthcare employers with the potential to earn significant wages. The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership also serves and supports their healthcare partners by inviting skilled job ready candidates to meet with them at the job fair.

“Efforts are aligned in targeting healthcare exclusive employers with diverse open positions, which included clinical and non-clinical roles. The CHSC team focused on providing a diverse pool of employment opportunities for job seekers, ranging from entry-level to highly experienced roles,” said Project Director Enisa Jakupovic. What makes this job fair so unique is that it has the largest participation level for hospitals under one roof with 50 healthcare employers and over 130 healthcare recruiters. Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership Business Relations Specialist Kathleen Brannigan was extremely pleased with the ResCare Healthcare Sector Center’s performance. “I would like to take the opportunity to say THANK YOU for a JOB WELL DONE at the 3rd Annual Fall Healthcare Job Fair event,” said Brannigan. “All of your dedicated work, commitments, passions towards those we serve, job seekers and employers, were on display yesterday in the excellent event that took place.”
