One-Stop Operator Rhianna Johnson and her team are working smart and doing good in Southwest Washington. Due to the current environment, the team worked together to quickly and efficiently move their services online and equipped staff with tools to work remotely, so they could continue helping job seekers and employers. Workshop Facilitator Traci Wise is hosting workshops and program orientations on the WebEx platform. Staff received training on how to meet with customers one-on-one using virtual methods. The team developed a communication plan to inform customers about the move to virtual service delivery using Facebook, targeted emails, partner communication, and their website. Members of the team are participating in the statewide “Virtual WorkSource” group where they share best practices regarding effective online workshop delivery.
One participant said, “I can’t tell you what a breath of fresh air it was to have an actual seminar/webinar to look forward to in the middle of these long hours at home. You were able to get information out to many of us with maybe even a wider reach than if you had done it in person.”
Thank you, Rhianna and team, for taking a positive, can-do approach to ensure we continue to operate in the present moment, meeting communities, businesses, and individuals where they are.
